v^Fire Alarm ANF Security Systems Designer
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include designing of Fire Alarm and Life Safety systems using AutoCAD drafting software in accordance with NFPA Standards, local code requirements, and applicable manufacturer’s requirements. Designer is responsible for production of prints and submittals needed for obtaining installation permits.
Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment to develop, design, draw and engineer fire protection/safety systems based on code requirement
Prepare submittal of documents, applications for permit and follow up through the approval process
Assist the Sales Department in the interpretation of project requirements and pre-sales design work
Assist project managers to obtain technical information as needed
Ability to identify and estimate changes, produce scope summaries, bill of material, and procure pricing
Maintain project drawing files, associated records, and documentation in an orderly condition
Develop spreadsheets and other tools to increase quality of drawings while decreasing time required on standard tasks
Track work tasks using the company provided system
Operation of large plotter, scanner, and reproduction equipment
Be able to work independently and as part of team
Be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members
Eager to learn and desire to continually improve
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Experience/Skills:
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
Engineering of commercial fire alarm and life safety systems or other related experience preferred
Understanding process of construction projects and the requirements to document all changes or deviations to specification
Knowledge of network communications technology
Fully proficient and independent design skills
NICET Fire Alarm Certification or have the intent of achieving NICET certification in the near term

v^Fire Alarm Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for all technical aspects of servicing and maintenance of commercial Fire Alarm systems that includes programming fire panels.
Provide technical support to internal and external customers
Troubleshoot and resolve commercial fire alarm and system programming related problems
Complete all necessary service documentation in timely manner via electronic CRM
Follow the service schedule via mobile device as provided by the Service Coordinator
Deliver professional service and training to customers
Participate in continuous job-related education
Keep track of parts inventory
Operate company vehicle in a safe manner
Be part of on-call rotation schedule and work overtime, when needed
Experience/Skills:
Minimum 2 years’ experience required in service, troubleshooting, problem-solving, installation, programming of commercial fire alarm systems
Manufacturer specific product knowledge and installation/programming experience: Edwards, Firelite, SilentKnight, etc,
Have a solid understanding of basic computer networking, hardware, and diagnostics, be able to learn new software quickly
Valid driver’s license
Qualify for a PERC card from the State of Illinois
NICET Level I certified (NICET II preferred)
Highschool diploma or equivalent

Duties and Responsibilities:

v^Commercial Installation/Service Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
Installation of various security and life safety devices
Communicate clearly and effectively with the end user and with local authorities (i.e. inspectors)
Organizational skills and ability to time manage the day’s activities
Read electrical drawings and schematics
Ensure that systems installed are working correctly and any deficiencies are addressed and/or corrected
Follows direction of management and peers
Conducts oneself in a safe and courteous manner
On call availability for after-hour and holiday service calls
Punctual and ability to work a 5-day work week
Ability to accurately fill out field reports
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Previous experience and/or technical training is preferred
Clean driving record and able to pass a background review
4 years experience; knowledge with low voltage and IP systems, including Security, Fire, Access Control, Intercom, Video and Nurse Call type systems
Ability to use various types of hand and power tools
Ability to work on ladders and lifts with heights up to 40’
