My first project with LaMarco Systems, Inc. was Harbor Chase of Naperville a state of the art 160 room senior living facility located on the North side of Naperville. After initial occupancy inspections in which the Naperville Fire Department approved the fire alarm installation and operation, we began experiencing trouble alarms. LaMarco Systems, Inc. always dispatched a representative to service these calls promptly. As time progressed the number of calls increased and the source of the problem was not apparent. LaMarco Systems, Inc. worked with their Fire Alarm supplier, UTC to look for a solution to the problem and all smoke detector heads were swapped out with new. Eventually the problem persisted and it was determined by UTC that there was no issue with the smoke detectors but that the smoke detectors were relatively close to the air conditioning supply vent. Further investigation showed that the ducts behind the vents were full of drywall dust and the combination of cold air, drywall dust and condensation on the smoke detectors sensors was causing the trouble alarms. All ducts were vacuumed clean and LaMarco Systems, Inc. convinced UTC to provide their newest most durable smoke detectors for the entire project at no cost to Harbor Chase of Naperville.
When Harbor Chase of Long Grove documents were put out to bid, LaMarco Systems, Inc. was certainly the preferred fire alarm contractor on our list. Ultimately LaMarco Systems, Inc. was awarded the fire alarm work under Kelso Burnett Electric. At the end of the project the duct work was cleaned prior to the installation of the smoke detectors. The Fire Alarm was tested by the Long Grove Fire Protection District and it passed without any issues on the first test.
Based on my experience with LaMarco Systems, Inc. at these two projects, I would highly recommend LaMarco Systems, Inc. as very qualified and well-trained fire alarm and security integration provider.
