COURSE DESCRIPTION

Electronic security systems for buildings are in the throes of major technology changes as the industry starts to catch up in applications where it severely lagged before.

In this course, you’ll learn about four new technological realities that are transforming the way integrated security systems are conceived, implemented and managed—and what it could all mean for design at the architectural level.

  1. Learn about the innovative integrated technology elements driving the rise of Security 4.0 and how they will ease design, deployment and management of security and life safety systems.
  2. Learn about the SaaS/Cloud model for software and how its adoption is impacting enterprise-class safety systems’ ability to more safely manage multiple buildings and safeguard their occupants in the face of security or other threats.
  3. Learn about how mobile, biometric and AI technologies will streamline security operations at buildings while increasing occupant safety.
  4. Learn what implications these innovative integrated technological trends may have for the design processes of architects: security/engineering specs, accounting for integration solutions, and building design/flow in context of security and safety considerations
